Hello blog world. I'm back. It's only been like... 3 months?
Anyhow, Lana is ALMOST ONE. It feels like just yesterday I started this blog and was about to give birth to her. But here we are a year later and VERY few posts later and the chica is about to hit a huge milestone!
Lana is one heck of a character. This baby girl is like: MOVE OUT THE WAY, LANA IS HERE! Yes, yes. She is a handful (two, really). Lana is:
-curious (about everything, mostly the toilet)
-active (she never stops looking for something to do!)
-ambitious (she LOVES to give Yousef a run for his money--and toys)
-determined (she has been trying to walk. She has successfully been able to stand on her own from a sitting position without holding on to anything. And she's taken two steps)
-talented (she stands in her highchair, EVEN if she's buckled in--HOUDINI)
-beautiful (love love love her. and her cuh-razy hair. She won't keep a bow in it.)
-adorable (loves her daddy, cries when he leaves the room--she cries for me sometimes too, laughs at silly stuff)
-dramatic (this week she's gotten into the habit of throwing herself on the floor on her stomach when she's upset... watch out Hollywood!)
Just yesterday she made me crack up. It was simple really. I would stick my tongue out, she'd try to grab it but before she got to it I would put it back in my mouth. Then, I'd let her succeed every few tries. And this made her laugh hysterically. Really, it's just a tongue!
On a daily basis I catch her at the toilet, almost there, or with her hand already in it. When will I learn to CLOSE THE DOOR?
Lulu loves her big brother, but she also loves to drive him crazy. She MUST play with his toys, particularly the ones he is playing with. Ay ay ay, this makes for a lot of screaming, fights, crying. It's kinda funny though.
She walks diligently with whatever she can hold on to--a hand, a baby walker/ride on toy, a laundry basket. Did I mention she's resourceful?
Lana LOVES baths and just today climbed in the tub alone (no water in it), sat in the bath seat, and closed it on her. Way to let em know what you WANT, girl!
There is really no way to describe this amazing little girl. I love her to death--she makes me smile and laugh every day. Even when she drives me crazy. I am so thankful to be lucky enough to be her mother and I can't wait to see her grow into a beautiful, young woman! I only pray I'm up to the challenge--I foresee lots of struggles in our future. After all, she is LANA!
